چکیده

A protocol for regeneration of an endangered medicinal orchid Dendrobium crepidatum was established mainly via indirect protocorm like body (PLBs) formation. The PLBs procured from in vitro growth cultures assessed ½ MS medium alone and combinations with 6-Benzyl amino purine (BAP), Kinetin (Kn) α-Naphthalene acetic acid (NAA). calli were induced longitudinally bisected segments PLBs. optimum percentage callus obtained supplemented BAP (1.0 mg/l) combination NAA (0.5 mg/l), where 64.3% 83.3% formed respectively. PLB formation achieved when transferred onto the respective basal medium. (91.6%) regenerated NAA. These differentiated into intact plantlets about 3 cm height 4-5 roots transplanted potting mixture highest rate 93.3% survival a green house.

Genetic stability and phytochemical analysis of the in vitro regenerated plants of Dendrobium nobile Lindl., an endangered medicinal orchid

An efficient genetically stable regeneration protocol with increased phytochemical production has been established for Dendrobium nobile, a highly prized orchid for its economic and medicinal importance. Protocorm like bodies (PLBs) were induced from the pseudostem segments using thidiazuron (TDZ; 1.5 mg/l), by-passing the conventional auxin-cytokinin complement approach for plant regeneration....

Synchronous Plantlet Formation by Using Banana Extract and In vitro Hardening in Orchid, Dendrobium lituiflorum Lindl.

The present study was undertaken to investigate the role of banana extract (BE) on synchronous plantlet formation from seeds of Dendrobium lituiflorum Lindl. The seedlings formed on modified Knudson C (KC) medium supplemented with 20% (v/v) BE had significantly high fresh and dry weights. Morphologically uniform plantlets with elongated leaves and well developed roots were formed on KC medium w...
